In-person teaching experience in a wide range of settings for very different purposes has given me a deeper appreciation of how people learn. Added to the Level 4 Certificate in Further Education Teaching Stage 1 from City & Guilds, this foundation offers me an appreciation of the importance of learning styles, making learning fun and interactive, and this very much applies to my approach to eLearning.

University of Hertfordshire, Dec 2015 – April 2021: supervising undergraduates with their final year dissertation, essay marking, delivering lectures on story structure, myth, empathy, engagement, and a short filmmaking module.

Creative workshops and activities for people living with dementia; 2015: stop motion animation using objects in the room, timelapse video of drawing activities, crafting activities.
Creativity for teachers; 2007: workshops to develop creative confidence in primary school teachers. Confidence in making art enjoyable, activities they can offer, how to do stop-motion animation at school.
Museum boxes for teachers; 2006: workshops to support creative uses of museum boxes for school teachers. Covering activities they can do with students, ideas for curriculum integration, and confidence in delivering creative activities at school with objects in the museum boxes.

National Citizen Service (NCS) workshops; 2015, 2016: stop motion animation workshops with groups of up to 30 young people. Animating bodies, chalk drawing on walls, cut-out animation.
Festival/museum workshops; 2007, 2010, 2012, 2014: walk-in stop motion animation workshops for the general public.
Harder to reach children; 2007: creative animation filmmaking and storytelling to re-engage children who were disengaged from school.
